Have you ever thought of pastoring an international church overseas? Baku International Fellowship in beautiful and ancient Baku, Azerbaijan is seeking to hire an experienced full-time pastor, who has demonstrated the talent, temperament, and leadership to shepherd its vibrant, growing church.
BIF’s mission is to build up the body of Christ by providing and supporting Christian outreach, worship, fellowship, discipleship, and service in the English speaking ex-pat community.
BIF is a multi-denominational Christian Church formed in 1998 by expatriates starting a children’s Bible study. From this beginning, BIF evolved into a church with a weekly attendance of 250+ people, including Americans, Filipinos, Indians, Europeans, Africans and Azerbaijanis. The majority of church attendees are in country for only 2-3 years; however there are also a number of locals and semi-permanent expatriate residents who work with humanitarian organizations. BIF is registered with the Government of Azerbaijan and is governed by a Church Charter, Statement of Faith and the Elder Board.
Baku International Church is located in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, a city of over two million inhabitants, and one that is experiencing an unprecedented wave of growth and prosperity due to its petroleum reserves.
We desire candidates with:
Experience in a multi-denominational / multi-cultural environment
Strong gifting in Bible teaching / preaching
BA, MA or M Div from an accredited theological institution
Minimum of 5 years experience in leading a growing ministry
Gifts and training in pastoral counseling
International experience preferred
At BIF, we believe that every single follower of Jesus Christ is called and gifted by God as a minister of Jesus Christ. We have a culture of lay involvement, and expect the layity will continue to be actively involved in all aspects of the service, including preaching, under the direction of the pastor. We seek a pastor who can recognize the unique talents of individuals attending BIF and equip them to serve the body, while expanding the ability of the church to fulfill its mission in Baku.
