Position:                               Executive Pastor

Reports to:                            Lead Pastor

Schedule Requirements:     Full time, including evenings and weekends

The individual in this position must have a belief in Jesus Christ as his or her personal Savior and must maintain a personal and ongoing walk with God through the power of the Holy Spirit.  She/he must strive to submit daily to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  Additionally, this individual must agree with Grace Community Church’s statement of beliefs and our philosophy of ministry and maintain a courteous, Christ-like attitude in working with people.

Summary of Position:

We are a mosaic striving to live like Jesus.  Our mosaic is unique and God given ~ we are diverse by color and ethnic background, gender and age.  We live in multiple communities of varying economic reputation.  And we all love the Lord.  The individual in this position will partner with the Lead Pastor to grasp his vision and work with staff and lay leaders to share and execute that vision.  The individual must be comfortable as second in command and is called by God to make that their career focus.

Required Responsibilities:

•       Is a complement to Lead Pastor, partnering with Lead Pastor to allow him to lead with his strengths, while supporting his vision

•       Will think through vision with Lead Pastor and ensure all initiatives are well developed and prioritized before bringing them to staff and others with responsibility to implement

•       Will lead staff members, having responsibility as their direct supervisor

•       Will serve as a shepherd for staff members, encouraging and developing them while holding them accountable to goals and initiatives

•       Will serve as the liaison between Lead Pastor and staff to assist with priorities of implementation of vision

•       Assist direct reports in developing ministry plans and budgets

•       Share teaching responsibilities when needed

•       Officiating weddings and funerals

•       Other duties as assigned

•       Experience supervising a staff of 6 or more

•       Experience partnering with vision caster, focusing on balance and implementation

•       Seeking a long term position to serve God as a partner and critical second in command
