Send a current resume with 3 references, a recent family photo, and a 1-page cover letter sharing your story and how God is leading you to pursue this position in Haugan, Montana.
We are seeking a pastor who is able to be bi-vocational, or in a retirement situation with the financial means of supporting ones family/ministry. Mountain Valley will provide compensation as the Lord provides.
Property is owned by the church and apartment style living can be arranged in the basement of the Church for housing purposes. Right now there is a room with 8 bunk beds for sleeping, a full kitchen, bathroom with shower and a washer and dryer.
Our desire is to find a Spirit filled man, with a clear desire for the work of the Lord to Pastor with MVF. This new pastor will assume the weekly operational responsibilities of the church with support and encouragement from its members.
Currently, and historically, the structure of the MVF Church is Pastor led with Pastor Advisory Council voting members (PAC-Team). While we believe the Church should be Pastor led only, for the first 12-months of a new Pastor the PAC-Team structure is to remain in place. Once, the new Pastor has been established and proven, voting PAC-Team members will vote to concede full authority to the Pastor.
This role will be filled with a leader who is committed to biblical preaching using the King James Bible only. The pastor will set the example of disciple making by expository preaching, training small group leaders and one-on-one disciple partners, and leading the church family to share their faith through soul winning. He will lead our Ministry Teams and help develop members, so that we multiply leaders at every layer of ministry.

We began 9 years ago in Haugan MT under the leadership of Alan and Sarah Damron. Our founding pastor has resigned from the pulpit and is following the call to move to Kampala Uganda to support Terra Nova Academy, his daughter’s Christian school. Our PAC Team consists of 3 members, Charles and Janet Hughes and Bonnie Rauscher they will be overseeing the Pastoral search and hiring process.
Our church is in the small town of Haugan/DeBorgia MT with a population of about 160 people. Ministries such as our Food Pantry, Clothes Closet and Wood Ministry allow us to demonstrate the love of Jesus to a vastly un-saved and distant community. With a past emphasis on reaching the lost and building trust with our neighbors, moving forward we hope to prioritize small group discipleship within the church to grow as a fellowship.
Mountain Valley Fellowship has hosted numerous mission teams from southern churches, and hopes to continue to do so each summer, building lasting ministry relationships. We desire to create additional partnerships with other churches.
Haugan/DeBorgia is located in Mineral County Montana, the second poorest county in the state. It is a very rural community with abounding outdoor recreational opportunities. The closest large city of Missoula (pop 75K) is an hour and a half drive on I-90 and most residents commute there for shopping and medical purposes. There is a regional hospital in Mineral County in the neighboring town of Superior about 30 minutes away.
