Lead Pastor Job Description

Position Summary:

New Beginnings Church, an interdenominational congregation of approximately 275 people, seeks a motivated Lead Pastor to continue cultivating and promoting our dynamic and exciting ministry. As the spiritual leader of the congregation, the Lead Pastor works collaboratively with the Elder board to provide leadership, training, support and oversight. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits and annual review.

Position Overview


Maintains a sensitivity to the promptings of the Holy Spirit in life and ministry.
Models and promotes the doctrine, mission, and values of New Beginnings Church.
Equips the church family to be a Godly influence in the community and beyond.
Commits to outreach and promotion of personal and corporate evangelism.


Proclaims and teaches the entire Bible as inerrant, infallible and inspired Word of God.
Seeks to create and implement engaging and meaningful spiritual experiences.
Teaches the Word in a way that is relevant and applicable to daily life.
Cultivates an atmosphere that encourages spiritual growth.
Motivates and encourages prayer and personal devotion.


Inspires and mentors the church family to serve according to their giftings.
Teaches, equips, and encourages new servant leaders.
Oversees all programming and activities.
Leads, equips, mentors, and ministers to church family and staff.

Education & Experience:

Discerns a call to ministry as outlined by scripture (1 Timothy 3:1-7  & Titus 1:6-9).
Obtains a Bachelor’s Degree in ministry or related field of study with 5-10 years experience preferred.
