The Worship Pastor is responsible for the worship program of the church. The Worship Pastor plans worship services with a focus on music selection and leading choirs and/or worship teams. The Worship Pastor also works closely with other pastoral staff in planning of worship services, church events, or concerts. The Worship Pastor selects and supervises the activities of associate music ministers/pastors/directors, choir directors, worship leaders, organists, pianists, and other musicians. The Worship Pastor may be responsible for supervising sound and lighting staff/volunteers. The person who fills the job of the Worship Pastor must be a team-oriented self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage multiple leaders and provide leadership in worship ministry.
