Job Description
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION:
Licensing:
• At least 18 years old
• High school/GED graduate
• First-Aid and CPR qualified
• Have at least 1,040 hours of paid or unpaid staff supervision experience
• Have at least 9 quarter credits or 90 hours earned in any combination of accredited courses in staff
supervision, human relations and child development.
Spiritual:
• Profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
• Full engagement in an active Christian lifestyle and discipline, including weekly worship
attendance and serving out of call and giftedness
• Commitment to personal spiritual growth and healthy lifestyle
• Considers the position a ministry calling, not simply a job
• Is in full alignment with/support of the vision of The Well
• Models standards and expectations of Christian leadership, including positivity and professionalism
Leadership Skills:
• Ability to work in a team-based, strengths-based environment

Physical Capabilities:
• Be able to lift 25-50 lbs.
• Be able to walk, squat/kneel

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain MN licensing documentation, policies, and regulations
• Ensure that a Christian model is evident in the classroom and with the staff and Advisory Board
• To keep curriculum current, oversee its development as written by Lead Teachers. Making sure
there is a balance within curriculum which builds social play skills growth as well as academic
growth
• Create staff training workshops at least once a year
• Be supportive of the GDK staff. Ready at any time to give advice, moral support, or be physically
in the classroom to help where needed
• Maintain budget and approve staff expenses
• Collect, track and document tuition payments
• Conduct weekly staff meetings and 2 to 3 Advisory Board meetings per year
• Supervise and give constructive feedback to GDK staff
• Communicate with GDK families via email and school bulletin information boards
• Establish and portray a positive representation of the school when interacting with current and
possible new families through emails, phone calls, and tours.
• Update and go over the GDK Preschool Staff Handbook with staff each year
• Create and oversee the following of GDK Staff Covenants
• Maintain the running and updating of school website
• Oversee quality of program, ensuring GDK continues to evolve into the best school it can be in
meeting the needs of our families and being competitive with area preschools
• Work with staff to create and run fundraising opportunities for GDK. (Examples: PJ Night,
Children’s Store, Square One Art). With input from staff deciding where those funds would most
benefit the school
• Make sure families feel a part of the GDK community/ Coordinate parent volunteers with the help
of the Program Support Assistant
• Oversee the planning of events such as open house, parties, GDK traditions, special events, and
programs
• Stay on top of updates needed in each classroom, school hallway, school used restrooms, and
outside entrance. Always making sure GDK is putting its best foot forward with safety and
appearance
• Make sure school and art supplies are always available and ordered in a timely manner
• Maintain safety and organization of kitchenette, back room, staff workroom, hall closet, and gym
closet with help of Program Support Assistant
• Attend South of the River Director’s Meetings
• Collaborate with Church Finance Committee, Trustees Committee and the Director of
Administration regarding budget and facility
• Hire/train new GDK staff and substitutes
• Collaborate with Director of Administration regarding staffing, including background checks and
hiring procedures
• Maintain staff and student files according to licensing standards
• Be involved in helping to define GDK’s role in the Church and continue to support being a part of
The Well’s community
• Coordinate outreach opportunities with the Children’s Ministry at The Well
• Be current in First Aid and CPR training
• Report cases of suspected child abuse or neglect
• Attend Church Staff meetings as requested
COMPENSATION
Rate of compensation will be based on:
• Experience and education.
• Work agreement of hours/ week commitment
