The Audio Technician is responsible for helping to plan, organize, and provide leadership in sound/audio for specific and assigned worship services. Reports to the Director of Ministry Programs. This is a part-time position and works 6 – 8 hours a week.

• Acts as the lead Audio Technician at Worship Team practices ensuring that the microphones and other sound and on-stage equipment is ready to use. Assists the Camera/Tech Lead and Director of Ministry Programs with other tasks including running slides on Pro Presenter.
• On Sunday, arrives early to provide sound check with choir and Worship Team Leaders.
• On Sunday, this position (along with the Camera/Tech Lead) ensures the sound and tech equipment is ready and is available. During the traditional and contemporary services, this person would lead the sound team and work with volunteers, (8:00 a.m. – Noon). Services are at 9:00 a.m. (Traditional) and 10:30 a.m. (Contemporary).
• Trains and shepherds volunteer tech team members to help with sound and slides.
• Understands and adheres to the Safe Sanctuary policies.
• Plans and arranges for substitutes as necessary.
• Runs sound for special events including The Well Kids events, funerals, weddings, etc. Funerals can come up on very short notice, so flexibility in schedule is needed.
• Audio mixing post-service as needed.
• Helps with sound for additional videos needed for services ex. faith stories.
• Organizing. Can gather and organize resources (people, materials, funding, support) to get things done; uses resources effectively and efficiently.
• Planning. Accurately assess the length and difficulty of a project; sets objectives and goals; breaks down work into process steps; develops schedules and task/people assignments; anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks; measures performance against goals; evaluates results.

• Prior experience as a sound engineer and experience on a tech team preferred.
• Instrumental proficiency required. Someone with an “ear” for music is preferred!
• Knowledge of vocal pedagogy necessary.
• Possess a willingness and ability to work with musicians of varying backgrounds/skill levels.
• Possess a maturity and commitment to grow in faithfulness and encourage others.
• Experience working with Pro Presenter preferred.
• Degree in music or tech preferred.
