Job Description
We are seeking a man with spiritual maturity reflecting the character of Christ in both his private and public life. A man with a passion for the edification and growth of God’s Church through the expository preaching of His Word. A man committed to clearly presenting the Gospel. A man with the God given abilities to communicate meaning and insight from Scripture in a way that connects with the congregation and effectively leads to learning, understanding, and application. A man who is sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and will serve as the leader of the Board of Elders with the main responsibilities of the pulpit ministry, the administration of the ordinances, the commitment to fulfill the Great Commission and will support and encourage the church’s ministries including Biblical counseling services.
From our Constitution: The pastor, who holds the office of Elder, shall have the responsibility for the spiritual oversight of the Church. He shall conduct the public services of worship, preach and teach the Scriptures, administer the ordinances, attend the meetings of the Official Board, and perform the various duties pertaining to the office as indicated in the Scriptures. He shall be an ex-officio member of all boards and committees of the Church.
The description from the constitution is understood to include these duties:
Lead services of worship, including the celebration of communion. (If taking a vacation Sunday he will get a substitute.)
Work closely with the Board of Elders
Call on sick and shut ins
Officiate at weddings, funerals and baptisms
Attend Official Board meetings
Work with the preparation of weekly bulletins and other correspondence
Provide counseling as needed
Be available as a resource person for church groups
Work with committees and board to assist them in carrying out their assigned tasks, having freedom of voice and counsel but no vote
Be involved in Vacation Bible School
Organize the Baccalaureate service when it is our turn
Give bill of travel expenses to the treasurer
Qualifications
Seminary/Pastoral graduate.
Born-again, baptized believer who loves the Lord.
Fulfill the scriptural qualifications of a leader found in I Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
Possess a proficiency in biblical theology and the ability to convey biblical truth to all age groups.
Willingness to engage in the local community and the support of the church’s ministries and missionaries.
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to reflectively listen.
Possess the ability to disciple, teach and shepherd members of the church community.
Maintain a healthy balance of personal growth in the Lord, family life, and ministry life.

Purpose
1. To stand unequivocally for the fundamentals of the faith as contained in the Holy Scriptures.
2. To present the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ at home and abroad to those who have not accepted Him as their personal savior and teach the Holy Scriptures for the edification of those who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior.
3. To do all things in the name of and for the honor and glory of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
