As directed by the Church Board (CB), provide administrative and spiritual leadership to the Church, to assist the church family in the ongoing development of their unique ministry.
The Pastor shall seek the counsel and assistance of fellow staff members, appropriate officers, and/or board and committee members, in developing, formulating and promoting the plans and projects of the Church.
Ministry duties listed below are “as directed by the CB”, and in congruence with the number of job hours stated in the employment contract. Funerals, weddings and other occasional ministry needs will be compensated according to terms of the contract.
Lead and/or coordinate the leadership of weekly and special service worship planning
Plan, prepare, and preach Biblical sermons
Administer the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
Conduct funeral services and wedding ceremonies in compliance with church practices
Perform in-home, nursing home, hospital, hospice, and prison visitation
Perform pastoral counseling, providing referrals as needed
Attend church family fellowship events
Plan and coordinate discipleship and leadership growth opportunities
Lead Bible studies and prayer groups as directed by the CB
Work toward unity in the church as a witness for Christ
Lead and/or cooperate in evangelistic efforts in the community
Maintain and foster healthy relationships with area churches
Responsibly support the ABC Dakotas region and the greater community
Oversee the daily church administrative functions
Coordinate and supervise the work of all Church Staff members
Serve as ex-officio member of church boards and committees
Attend conventions and conferences as directed by the CB
Bachelor's degree and some experience in ministry preferred.
