Youth Worker
Job Description
We are looking for a person to run our youth group. This is an established program currently run on Wednesdays after school. This day and time can be reevaluated.
The Wednesday programming would involve:
- Preparing lessons and services.
- Leading discussions.
- Preparing games and or experiences to engage the youth.
- Coordinating with volunteers.
Worship leading abilities are not required, but a serious plus!
A youth worker would also be responsible to do periodic events and gatherings with students. These would be geared towards evangelism, discipleship, and fellowship. There is not a set schedule for them, but would need to be when the maximum number of students are available.
Sunday morning attendance would be strongly preferred. However, I am open to "sharing" a youth pastor with another church.
The right person would be considered for an associate pastor position along with youth ministry responsibilities.
Qualifications
This is a part time position that does not require ordination. We do require a vibrant growing faith and alignment with the vision of the church. You also must care about the young people of our church.
Our lead pastor is new to our church and coming from a large multi-campus church background. He is willing to train a person with the right personality. Therefore, I am less concerned with experience than with:
1) Character
2) Chemistry
3) Competence
4) Commitment
An applicant's theology MUST be Biblically grounded and compatible with the Wesleyan perspective.
An applicant must be able to pass a background check.

We are a Biblically grounded church with a passion for loving God, and loving others. Darrow Road Wesleyan is a growing church. We are in a rural setting 3 miles outside of the city of Superior, WI. This is very close to the Duluth metro area.
While we have a wide variety of ages in our services, we currently are under 100 on Sunday mornings. However, we have been a large church that has launched several plants in past. We are seeing signs of growth and excitement that our best days are yet to come.
We are looking for people who want to get in on the ground floor and help us do great things for God.
