Calvary Church is a 7-year-old, autonomous church plant in New Prague, MN that partners with the Southern Baptist Convention for the spread of the gospel. Our vision is to make new, and stronger, followers of Jesus. We believe this happens when we are living on mission together by celebrating, cultivating, committing, and connecting people to Jesus. We are a growing, multi- generational church and currently average over 150 attendees on Sunday mornings. We have a booming children's ministry with a strong contingent of young families growing together. We have purchased 12+ acres of land and are currently meeting in a temporary location. We are seeking a pastor of worship with a church-planting heart to help us grow in our ability to reach our community for Christ. The vision for the worship ministry at Calvary Church is driven by theology rather than music, presentation, or style. Our music is current in styling but honoring of the lyrics and traditions of the past. Our worship service currently features a multitude of styles including new worship songs, hymns in modern arrangements, multiple forms of gospel, and traditional hymns. The worship team currently consists of piano, guitar, bass, drums, keys, and vocalists. Our heart for the worship pastor is to implement a worship ministry that compliments his strengths, but also incorporates individuals from across generations to lead and participate in worship weekly. Discipleship at Calvary Church consists of weekly Bible and Life groups as well as men's and women's accountability ministry. The groups are currently sermon based. We also seek to see each Bible and Life group actively building bridges in the community for the gospel. New Prague is a community 45 miles south of downtown Minneapolis of approximately 8000 people. While it is quickly growing with new families moving in because of its desirable school system, it still shows signs of its rich Czech heritage. New Prague is strategically centered in the middle of 5 other cities in which Calvary Church seeks to be of influence covering over 20,000 people. Our goal is to plant campuses in each of these surrounding cities as the metropolitan area moves south.
