Worship Leader / Associate Pastor
Job Description
The Worship Leader / Associate Pastor is a passionate follower of Jesus Christ who is responsible for a variety of activities to support the Senior Pastor with the church and its ministries. This person is a key member of the pastoral team, working together to provide direction for the church and sharing leadership of the Worship Service, specifically the Praise Team. This person exhibits evidence of Christian character and servant leadership in all aspects of the role.
Individual Responsibilities Include:
· · Provide support to the Senior Pastor in all areas of ministry, including but not limited to preaching, discipleship, and working with the Program Director to plan and lead worship services.
· Provide pastoral care to church members, including visits to hospital, nursing homes and homebound individuals
· Serve as a liaison between the church and the community
· Participate in the development and implementation of priorities for the church, as well as the budget process
· Lead or participate in assigned events throughout the year; officiate weddings and funerals as requested
· Perform various pastoral duties as requested by the Senior Pastor
Qualifications
· · Bachelor of Arts in Music and / or Theology, or equivalent; Masters Degree preferred.
· Musical training / competence in singing and preferably guitar and/or piano
· Previous experience in leading church ministry activities, especially as it relates to leading the congregation in worship; in addition serving as associate pastor with emphases in discipleship and outreach.
· Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills
· Ability to recruit, train and support others for ministry work
· Hours of service: Full time
· Mandatory meetings: Staff meetings and other Leadership meetings as needed
