Children's / Family Life Pastor

The Children’s / NextGen / Family Life Pastor is responsible to provide leadership and direction over all aspects of NextGen ministry. The initial emphasis will be to launch and build our K-6^th grade area. As the ministry grows, then expand through middle school, and eventually high school.  The goal would be to grow the ministry to the point where this turns into 2 roles, with two separate pastors (children’s / youth).  

Lead & Direct

·      Develop relationships with children, teenagers, and their families.

·      Recruit, equip, and empower separate teams to assist in reaching, and discipling the various age levels of NextGen ministries. 

·      Develop a strategy to reach new families, children, and teenagers.

·      Instill a heart for worship, discipleship, fellowship, serving, and outreach.

·      Oversee the Sunday morning children’s “Sunday School”

·      Conduct weekly services for current Middle school / High School students.

·      Become a visible presence in our local schools.

Strategic Initiatives and Events

·      Organize children’s / youth camps & retreats

·      Create, organize and lead special events and activities (VBS, youth outings)

·      Be willing to be where students and families are… school activities, athletic events, etc.

Pastoral Care

·      Assist with Hospital visitations, funerals, counseling, weddings, as needed.

Organizational leadership

·      Maintain a presence at the church office throughout the week (10 hrs/wk avg)

·      Attend weekly staff meetings.

·      Attend weekly Sunday services when not on vacation.

·      Attend church wide events.

·      Attend monthly elders (church leadership) meetings to provide updates
