Contemporary Service Worship Leader Job Description
Emerald Bay Community Church (Bullard, TX) is expanding our church by launching a Contemporary Worship Service – an exciting opportunity to reach more people in our community, where nobody is a stranger.
We are an independent multi-denominational church, and the ideal candidate should have an interest in being on the ground floor in helping shape an atmosphere that honors God by engaging the congregation and helping grow the next generation of worshipers. The ideal candidate should be a skilled musician with experience in worship leadership and knowledge in creative worship elements to enhance engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead weekly worship for the contemporary service, along with the teaching pastor.
• Recruit, train, and develop musical talent for weekly contemporary service.
• Oversee a team that will set-up and transition the sanctuary each Sunday.
• Coordinate and collaborate with leaders and participants of the traditional service.
• Lead and implement new contemporary service through modifications in existing space, helping shape both look and feel.
• Participate in and lead special community events as needed (e.g., night of worship).
• Collaborate and provide input on other worship-related initiatives (e.g., youth worship).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills and qualifications
• Strong vocal and instrumental ability required
• Experience in mentoring musicians and vocalists to help grow skills
• Demonstrated experience leading worship teams and volunteers
• Experience with or understanding AVL (audio, visual, lighting) systems
• Proven creative techniques, with ability to integrate music, media, and technology
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Emerald Bay Community Church is an independent, multi-denominational church located within the gated Emerald Bay Club community in Bullard, Texas—just 10 minutes from Tyler and about 90 miles east of Dallas. The Emerald Bay Club and golf course sit along the shores of Lake Palestine.
