Global Outreach (GO) Director
Job Description
Some of what you will do:
· Become an active member of Hill Country and engage with your Church family and community to relationally and Spiritually Lead
· Learn, understand, and implement the GO vision and Ministry Purpose and Plan
· Work closely with people across the church, community and around the word, under the Direction of our Lead GO Director
· Have specific responsibilities to ensure:
o The missionaries we partner with are well cared for and supported by our church community
o The people of Hill Country are being equipped, shepherded, mobilized, and engaged in Global Outreach
o Short Term trips are effectively partnering with long-term missionaries around the world so that God may be glorified
o Owning all strategy, execution, and planning associated with short term mission trips – recruiting, equipping, preparing, leading, communication, celebrating life change, and post trip evaluation
o Identity and provide regular opportunities to envision educate and galvanize the church to be aware and engaged in GO through experiences like: World Religion Tours, Missions Classes, English Partner for International Students, Serving Refugees, Praying Sponsoring, etc.) and clear communication and celebration of life-change across locations
o Shepherd people, develop leaders, and make disciples who make disciples
· Initially lead and create infrastructure for these responsibilities while:
o Building and empowering a team of servant leaders (high level volunteers) from the church to co-own these responsibilities and ministry with you; guiding and empowering One Church Servant Leadership Teams (Eph 4 model of ministry; all staff are expected to be “equippers” of God’s people more than “doers”)
o Help people step into their Masterpiece Mission - with an Eph 2:10 model to help people discover and engage in doing the “good works that God has uniquely created and prepared for them to do.”
Qualifications
Candidates must have: Passion to make disciple of all nations; prefer 5+ years’ Missions experience in the context of the local church, sending organization, or similar; mature follower of Christ who is active in their local church, demonstrated ability to move vision and ideas to actionable plans and next steps, along with experience in spiritual leadership – shepherding, discipling, engaging and empowering people.
