About the Role: Ministry Meets Family Life
As a Houseparent couple, you’ll live in one of our on-campus cottages and serve as the daily caregivers, spiritual mentors, and family models for children who’ve experienced loss, hurt, or disruption. You’ll cultivate a loving, Christian home through structure, nurturing relationships, and Christ-centered discipleship.
This role is ideal for married couples—whether mid-career, recently retired, or seeking vocational ministry together—who desire to serve hand-in-hand and make a tangible, lifelong difference.
Qualifications
What You'll Do
You’ll create a rhythm of life that offers safety, healing, and growth for up to 8 children, ages 6–18. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Establishing a peaceful, family-style home with routines, meals, devotions, and shared life
- Teaching practical skills and healthy habits—cleanliness, homework routines, social graces
- Disciplining with compassion, consistency, and the heart of a mentor—not as an enforcer
- Partnering with teachers, counselors, and staff to ensure each child’s full well-being
- Hosting birthdays, holidays, and special milestones as family celebrations
- Attending church, modeling prayer and spiritual rhythms, and supporting each child’s walk with God
- Coordinating medical appointments, school needs, and extracurricular activities
You’ll work in 10-day shifts, followed by 4 days off—with full support from relief houseparents during your time away.
Your Profile
You’re not just looking for employment—you’re discerning a calling. The right fit is a couple who:
- Shares a deep, active Christian faith and heart for vulnerable children
- Is legally married, aligned in purpose, and ready to serve full-time
- Has the emotional maturity, patience, and resilience to love children through their wounds and past disappointments
- Enjoys creating a peaceful, well-ordered, and joyful home life
- Embraces teamwork, community, and flexible living in a campus setting
- May or may not have prior experience—training is provided
- May have up to two dependent children of your own living with you
