Nursery Worker Job Description
The Lead Nursery Attendant will work with the Children and Youth Ministries Director to design and supply all resources for the nursery, including volunteer staff, curriculum, activities, snack menu, and outreach to young families visiting the church.
Two adult attendants are required in the Nursery at all times. The Lead, and a
volunteer, which has undergone Safe Sanctuaries Training and a background check. Volunteer staff will rotate their services.
The Nursery will open each Sunday at 8:45 a.m. and provide care until 9:45 a.m., when families returning from prayer groups or Bible studies will collect their children to worship in the Sanctuary at 10:00 a.m.
After the Children's Moment, Nursery Church students will be led back to their room to participate in Bible stories, craft time, music and movement, as well as themed play activities. Snacks and water will be provided. The Nursery will close at 11:15 a.m.
Working hours are expected to be from 8:30 to 11:30 on Sundays. This includes time for activity preparation and clean-up.
Qualifications
❖ Experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.
❖ A compassionate and encouraging demeanor is essential, and a background in play-based learning or teaching in a Sunday School setting is preferred.
❖ The individual should possess a genuine enthusiasm for sharing the message of God and exemplifying the teachings of Jesus.
❖ A creative communicator who is eager to engage diverse types of learners will be highly valued in this role.
❖ A background check clearance to work with children is required.
