Worship Pastor Job Description
We are Western Heritage Cowboy Church in Goldthwaite Texas, and we are looking for a Worship Pastor with great leadership skills. WHCC is an amazing multi-generational church in central Texas, and we average 130 members on Sunday mornings with plenty of room to grow. Goldthwaite is a great place to call home and raise a family. If you like the country life this is the place for you. WHCC is a bible church with services on Sunday morning at 10:30am and Wednesday night at 6:30pm. Our next Worship Pastor will need to be proficient in the Behinger X32 mixer and teach our tech team in moving our streaming service forward. Our praise team consists of 10 members including a fiddle, mandolin, bass, piano, guitarist, 4 female and 1 male vocalist. We are praying that God sends us the right person that can lead our church in worship through Hymes, contemporary and country gospel . This position will start our as a part time position at $30,000 with a chance to move into a full time position as we grow.
Description & Responsibilities
- Lead worship services:
Plan and lead weekly worship services and special events, selecting music and liturgy that align with the church's vision.
- Manage worship teams:
Train, and mentor volunteer musicians, vocalists, and technical staff. Oversee and coordinate rehearsals to ensure a cohesive worship experience.
- Create atmosphere:
Facilitate an environment where the congregation can connect with God through music, prayer, and scripture.
- Technical coordination:
Work with the media and production team to ensure sound, lighting, and multimedia enhance the worship experience. Be proficient on the Behinger X32 mixer and streaming
- Spiritual leadership:
Model spiritual growth, provide pastoral care to team members, and maintain a servant-minded approach to ministry.
- Administrative duties:
Manage the worship ministry budget, maintain equipment, and use scheduling software to plan services and rehearsals.
- Collaboration:
Partner with other church staff, including the lead pastor, to ensure worship services are properly planned and integrated with other ministries.
Qualifications
Qualifications and skills
Strong ability to play at least one instrument (e.g., piano, guitar) and a broad knowledge of worship music.
Proven experience leading worship in a church setting and building and directing teams.
Experience with music and media equipment and software, such as soundboards Behinger X32 and Pro Presenter.
Music, theology, or a related field is often preferred.
A demonstrated, active Christian faith and commitment to the church's mission and values.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
