Worship Pastor
Job Description
Looking for a musically-gifted, spiritually-mature, biblically-grounded Christian to lead the worship ministry department. The ideal candidate has experience leading worship at a similar sized church and experience shepherding worship teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Communicates with the Senior Pastor in planning all worship services.
• Leads the praise and worship portion of worship services.
• Provides support and insight to all music ministries in the church.
• Develops a pathway to identify and recruit new volunteers into the worship ministry.
• Shepherds, trains, manages, and cares for the volunteers on the worship team.
• Able to work within an annual worship ministry budget.
• Keeps up to date with current praise and worship songs, worship conferences, trainings, etc.
• Oversees or works alongside the church’s media/tech team.
• Attend all church staff meetings, trainings, retreats, conferences, etc.
• Overseesthe maintenance of all musical instruments owned by the church.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
• 3-4 years experience leading worship in a similar church setting.
• Significant skill as a vocalist and instrumentalist.
• Broad knowledge of Christian worship music across multiple styles and generational tastes.
• proficient in reading music is a plus.
• Experienced leading, managing, encouraging, and training teams.
• Bachelor’s degree. Some formal training in music (specifically church music) is preferred.
• A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9).
• A calling to pastoral ministry.
