About Downtown Hope Church
We are seeking a full-time Strategic Leadership & Planning Pastor who will lead and mature the body of Downtown Hope through:
1. Equipping the pastoral team, Elders, staff and church body for effective ministry by developing, owning and directing the planning and organizational function of the church, in line with Downtown Hope’s mission and vision to see Gospel transformation in the City of Annapolis.
2. Ensuring operational flourishing of the church through leadership and oversight of administration, finance, human resources, supply, and facilities management.
3. Preaching and teaching, up to one time per month.
4. Facilitating the annual strategic planning process including evaluating ministry performance; reviewing mission, vision, and core values; developing key objectives and tactics; and establishing short, medium and long-term goals.
5. Establishing and maintaining a system for meeting agendas and minutes, along with a set of key performance measures that can be used to provide the pastoral team and Elders with an understanding the effectiveness of church teams. Leading meetings, as needed.
6. Acting as the front-line supervisor of church staff, including onboarding and operational training, informal coaching, and formal performance evaluations.
7. Recruiting, building and supporting volunteer leaders and teams to meet the needs of the church.
8. Along with other members of the pastoral team, creating and maintaining a climate of unity between the church and entrepreneurial missions teams, through effective communication, and nurturing of and respect for diverse giftedness within the church.
9. Developing annual financial plans that allocate resources to fund the strategic plan and meet critical financial objectives.
10. Leading the church’s building and facilities programs, including master planning, design and architecture, contractor selection, and construction.
