About Heartland Community Church Heartland Community Church in Decatur, IL is an independent, Bible believing, evangelical/full gospel church which has a weekly attendance of generally 450 people. Our Senior Pastor is retiring and is willing to stay on through the  Pastoral search process to provide a smooth transition. We are prayerfully searching for a Lead Pastor that is an experienced builder/leader to preach and teach the Word of God through the power of the Holy Spirit and provide leadership and edification to the congregation.  Our church is led by the Holy Spirit under the direction of the Senior Pastor and Elders. We are looking for a gifted pastor/teacher (Ephesians 4:11-12) to help lead us and teach us the Word of God. We are looking for a man of God to help shepherd the flock by praying for us and with us and seeking God’s will and His purpose for His church. We want the body to grow first in Christ and then in numbers and in outreach within our community and beyond. We currently support 12 missionaries around the world. There are two identical Sunday morning services that are broadcast live on Facebook and available on YouTube.  The congregation is represented by a healthy mix of people of all ages and walks of life. Worship services at Heartland consist of contemporary modern upbeat Holy Spirit filled music.  Services are 1 ½  hours on average and consist of worship, teaching from the Scriptures, along with other elements such as prayer, Communion, offering, announcements, etc. However, we are open to the flow of the Holy Spirit to change it up as He wants. In addition to Sunday morning and Wednesday night adult services, HCC provides Sunday morning and Wednesday night JR/SR High and children’s ministry; weekly young adult gatherings, adult LIFE small groups, active men’s and women’s groups, an active missions ministry; and many other seasonal special events. We have a Grand Palace banquet facility that hosts many events within the church as well as community events and weddings. Heartland employs five full time staff— lead pastor, associate/youth pastor, children’s pastor, bookkeeper and secretary.  We also have three part-time staff…creative arts director, adult ministry director, Grand Palace Director. Heartland is positioned on 26 acres. It has one main ministry facility that houses the sanctuary (seats 400), library, nursery, toddlers’ room, children’s church, special needs room, nursing room, prayer room and Holy Grounds coffee shop. Separate buildings include the Underground building for the youth ministry, large office building that provides personal office space for each staff member as well as additional meeting space, Grand Palace banquet center and large storage/maintenance buildings.
