Lynbrook Baptist Church has a long and rich history of service to the Lord that stretches back to the beginnings of Lynbrook village. It was here on July 29, 1914 that the church was officially organized.
A great turning point in the ministry of the church occurred under the ministry of George Washburn.Rev Washburn was one of the organizers of the Conservative Baptist Association in response to the liberal TURN of the American Baptist Association. The church joined the CBA in 1948 and has remained true to its purposes over the years and through several pastors.
LBC has moved from a typical suburban congregation to a life filled, multiracial and multicultural gathering of joyful worship and deep fellowship across many cultures and backgrounds
A recent milestone, our 100 year anniversary celebration, took place in July of 2014. Former pastors, missionaries’ former members, in addition to the mayor, Board of Trustees and other local dignitaries attended the unveiling or our new fully lit Kings Court. A Basketball court which replaced a house next door to our church.
A formal dinner at a local banquet hall honored God for His faithfulness to LBC. Many speakers, including former pastors, missionaries and members that had relocated all gave testimony to How Great Is our God ! God’s grace to LBC is beyond our comprehension. And even to this day, getting us through Covid with His arms of protection around us is truly deserving of all our thanks and praise.
