About Stuart Congregational Church Church

Congregational 501-750 people
Stuart Congregational Church (SCC) is a 25 year old, Christ-centered, non-denominational church in the beautiful seaside town of Stuart, Florida. Our roots are in the congregational tradition, and we are part of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches. SCC is a diverse congregation composed of seniors and young families, of "snowbirds" and locals, of new Christians and long time disciples, of died-in-the-wool Congregationalists and folks from every imaginable faith background. Our congregation is a diverse picture of God's Kingdom! Three years ago SCC called its third pastor, Tim Roberts. Pastor Roberts has a heart for children, youth and their families. The primary strategic focus for SCC is its children's ministry. Children love our kid environment, the caring adults who lead them, and the nurture they experience in Christ. SCC is poised to expand into a new realm of effective and faithful ministry to kids and their parents. Stuart, Florida has been voted "Most beautiful small town" and "One of top 20 most beautiful towns to visit in Florida." We are surrounded by water: Lake Okeechobee to the west, the St. Lucie River in the middle, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. The weather is gorgeous - you can enjoy the beach in the middle of "winter," and you hardly ever need long sleeves (much less an actual coat!). The city of Stuart is replete with "old world" charm, quaint shops, popular water-front restaurants, ample golf courses, and water activities like boating, surfing, jet skiing, kayaking and fishing. Stuart is known as the "Sailfish Capital of the World." Sea turtles nest on our beaches, wild manatee are regularly spotted along the river shoreline, and soaring osprey dive for fish in our waterways. Stuart is a vibrant, but small community on the Treasure Coast that is a haven from the congestion of extreme South Florida. The quality of life, and opportunities for ministry in our setting, are exceptional.
