The Senior Pastor is responsible for the spiritual leadership and welfare of the church and its members. The Senior Pastor casts the vision for the church and sets the overall direction of church programs. The Senior Pastor provides leadership for and actively participates in worship, education, discipleship, and evangelism for the spiritual life and growth of church members. The Senior Pastor typically originates and presents services of public worship, administers and leads the pastoral ministry of the church, has overall responsibility for the church staff, and represents the congregation in denominational and community affairs. The person who fills the job of the Senior Pastor must be a team-oriented self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage multiple leaders and provide leadership in church ministry.
