The Associate Pastor partners with and assists the Senior Pastor of the church. The Associate Pastor performs duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor. The duties of the Associate Pastor usually involve filling in when the Senior Pastor is absent and helping in the management of staff and volunteers. Most importantly, the Associate Pastor participates and helps implement the vision for the church. The person who fills the job of Associate Pastor must have a pastor's heart and be able to lead others well.
